Unilever Foodsolutions is sponsoring the 31st world congress of the World Association of Cooks Societies (WACS) - in Dublin, Ireland, on March 21st – 25th 2004, the world's largest gathering of chefs.
The association is the governing body for chefs’ organisations across the world and with more than 80 member countries its network extends to thousands of affiliated chefs and companies.
The association's biennial world congress is a forum for exchange of ideas. It will create opportunities for chefs' organisations around the world and Unilever to strengthen their partnerships. More than 800 participants, who are the key decision-makers from around the culinary world, will share experiences and consumer insights.
Unilever Foodsolutions will organise culinary masterclasses during the four-day conference, which will also see the World Junior Forum and an International Cookery Competition. The festival exhibition will present UBF food solutions from around the globe, together with Irish produce and cuisine.
Diego Bevilacqua, president Unilver Foodsolutions, who is to give a speech at the opening ceremony, said: "It's not just about us sponsoring a global congress. It shows our commitment for a strong working relationship between UBF Foodsolutions, WACS and chefs' societies and their members in each country."
"Where the societies and Unilever already have existing partnerships we want to strengthen these relationships and to become key partners. We also want to develop activities with local chefs in countries in which we have few partnerships and thus help to create business success for our customers."
Unilver Foodsolutions, Unilever's global food service business, provides solutions - not just products - for chefs and caterers to help them grow their businesses. At the core of this approach is chefmanship and a passion for food.
